After spending 17 days in Eastern Europe, I've discovered that instead of being backward 2nd-3rd world, it is fairly modern and very European.
Not many horse and carts in Romania, even in the small towns. They've outgrown that now that they are a member of the European Union.
Still, there are bargains to be had there. Think dinner for two with all the trimmings (main course, wine, coffee, desert) for $15 at a few places.
Brasov, Romania (above) is a quaint medieval joy for which I've created a few HDR photographs for my
upcoming book Beginning HDR.
You can preorder.
Since it is Black Friday, hoping you'll visit my Amazon page to do some shopping. My mid-century modern signage pictures can be had here.

Of course the horses have gone away and totally European Union now, thanks for share! Travelers
