You'd think that shooting microstock photos would be a demanding job where you had to plan a shot, apply ample lighting and feature compelling subject matter with a focus.
This is not always the case.
If you find a good wall on which the morning or afternoon sun is shining directly, shoot. Shoot both horizontally and vertically. Shoot at f/8 or f/10 so the entire frame remains sharp. (If you hoot at f/4, you'll get blurry circle around the edges of the frame.)
This photo was accepted by Dreamstime. I'm lucky here in Palm Springs because the architectural detail is first-rate. There are some great walls here.
So why are these photos sought after? Well, because photos of walls make good wallpaper (backgrounds) for websites. Nothing like creating website with natural elements of found architectural details.
modern photos
That is so true. This kind of Microstock shots are good for background wallpapers for sites, these are more appreciated if the purpose is served. Would you agree with me on that?
ReplyDeleteHi, yes, if the purpose is served they are good. My guess is the microsoft agency thought that this photo would match some webmasters' design goals.
