Finally! Nikon came out with its own version of mirrorless cameras. Two models--the J1 and V1 are tiny but powerful.
Here are ten things you should know about the J1 if you're in the market for one of these cool inventions:
1. 10 MP as opposed to Sony NEX 7, which is 24 MP.
2. Sensor size is 13.2X8.8 mm as opposed to the Sony NEX which is 24X16 mm; better than a point- and-shoot, but not better than other mirrorless cameras.
3. Has interchangeable lenses.
4. Aimed at people who like to take photographs, but not professionals.
5. Comes in pink (and other colors). Gee, what will people think of a male who carries a pink camera? I'd buy one just to see the look at someone's face when I shot them on the street.
6. World's fastest autofocus.
7. Shoots HD movies.
8. Shoots in Raw format.
9. Shoots at -3, +3 EV (more than a Canon 5D).
10. Has 3-inch LCD monitor.
